Job Summary

Technic Inc., Engineered Powders Division is a major manufacturer of metal powders and flakes and is located in Woonsocket, RI. The Plant Operator will be responsible for the manufacturing and processing of metal powders. Ideally the candidate has experience in a chemical manufacturing environment. The ability to follow standard operating procedures is important.

?Job Responsibilities:

1. Synthesis and develop copper powders and flakes, silver coated copper materials both at a R&D scale, and Production scale.

2. Familiar with Glassware, Pfaudler Reactors, air pumps, filter press, Buchner filters, attritors, vacuum ovens, both Vorti and Azo style screeners, and centrifuges.

3. Processing of the metal powder includes the "washing" of the powder in a filter press, or via decantation, and removing the material from the wash vessel into drying trays.

4. Dry materials using vacuum ovens

5. Screening of materials through either Azo or Vorti screeners

6. Report data in a clear & concise manner, and maintain good records

7. Operator is required to wear PPE, where required.

8. Package material into containers

9. Maintain a clean work area

10. Inform supervision of any unusual changes in process conditions, mechanical or electrical failures or malfunctions, unsafe conditions, etc.

11. Make suggestions for continuous improvements.

1. Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment

2. Ability to follow standard operating procedures, but also be able to interpret when a problem arise

3. Clearly and concisely communicate information with co-workers and management

4. Overtime is available when required.

?Salary: Dependent upon education and experience

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
