Coordinate instructional support services to credit students, students on special schedules, and high school credits students, advise students and coordinate necessary support services for the effective operation of the Learning Center.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required- Bachelor's degree.
Computer proficiency.
Preferred- Three years teaching experience in an alternative setting.
Master's Degree or significant progress towards Master's degree.
Bilingual in English and Spanish languages.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Direct individualized tutorial and/or small group instruction in the area of high school completion course work or full-time instructional programs through the Learning Center.
2. Tutor both college and high school students.
3. Advise students in programs to be determined by the Director of Academic Center and Dean of Students.
4. Register students for high school credit recovery courses.
5. Supervise the instruction of students in independent or specially scheduled course work.
6. Develop/monitor financial budgets and year-end projections for Learning Center.
7. Coordinate online and other test proctoring.
8. CLEP Examiner.
9. Leader for developmental classes and new initiatives in developmental education.
10. Assist in coordinating Deaf Interpreting Services, note takers, and other adaptive services.
11. Plan, administer, score, and/or interpret results of various assessments.
12. Assist in accommodations process as needed with the Director of the Academic Center.
13. Provide accommodation for special needs students.
14. Maintain attendance records and track academic progress on students, ensuring confidentiality of student records.
15. Develop and revise curriculum as needed.
16. Advise students of program expectations through activities such as orientation and student handbook.
17. Supervise academic placement exams.
18. Head of Career Center.
19. Hire additional tutors for needs outside Learning Center expertise.
20. Serve as a communication link to the student, the high school, the parent, or the social service agency as appropriate.
21. Work with other college staff and local high school staff to address individual needs and establish individual plans of study.
22. Keep abreast of state laws and regulations that affect our programming and implement changes as needed.
23. Participate in the formation and implementation of philosophies, policies, and procedures for the Learning Center.
24. Maintain a positive learning environment.
25. Serve on appropriate committees/teams to carry out the college mission philosophy, goals, and objectives.
26. Participate in professional development activities that support the position.
27. Analyze data and recommend solutions.
28. Identify and provide recommendations for process improvement.
29. Participate in the long-range and short-range planning of the college.
30. Serve on and provide leadership to committees as appropriate.
31. Perform other duties as assigned.
Wage/Salary Range:
Salary dependent upon experience and education.
Employment Term:
This position is funded through the Title III grant. Employment is contingent upon continued funding and will conclude when the grant period ends, unless additional funding is secured.
