Vehicle Engineering (VE) is part of Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT), a division of Volvo Group North America, provide state-of-the-art research, engineering, product planning and project execution to final delivery of complete products and support of the products in the aftermarket. VE is responsible for the integration and development of technologies into a complete truck for all brands within the Volvo Group. What you will be doing

As a Co-op, you will perform complex and challenging engineering tasks in the field of product development, being requested to carry out investigations, execute CAD studies and development in CATIA system, elaborate technical documentations, develop prototypes for mock-ups and concept verifications. You are going to work with collaborative, passionate, experienced and enthusiastic Engineers. And you will have a designated team member as your mentor during the internship.


Your goals will be to deliver innovative concepts and technical solutions to our Trucks, support the Engineers in their daily tasks, share experiences and have a great time with us.


You will further develop your knowledge and skills in heavy trucks industry, teamwork, manufacturing technologies, prototyping (3D printing), CAD, CAE. You will receive formal training in Volvo PDM system and CAD Catia.

Responsibilities:



Solve real world engineering problems involving the design, testing and/or manufacturing of Vehicle Front parts and systems, such as Hoods, Bumpers, Headlamps, Grilles. Lead and/or contribute to the development of advanced concepts. Develop parts in Catia CAD system and manage product documentation. Manage the 3D Printing of CAB parts - FDM Printer.

You are a Mechanical Engineering student that is prepared to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment, gaining experience and knowledge in various aspects of engineering (or mechanical, electrical, software, design, production, etc.). As a valued member of the engineering team within GTT, you will have the opportunity to work directly with the engineers in the department. GTT's values collaboration and life-long learning and our goal is to contribute to your development while providing you an opportunity to work in a business environment within the manufacturing industry. You will report to group manager of CAB Vehicle Front.

Required:



Must be enrolled and pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75. Co-ops are not enrolled in academic courses during their co-op rotation and may work up to 40 hours per week.
