The Maintenance Coolant Technician is responsible for maintaining fluid levels to ensure there is no downtime for production by charting usages and performing maintenance on pumps and centrifuges. This position is responsible for maintaining inventory levels, tracking, and ordering coolants.
Tracks coolant usage and inventory levels to ensure production is not negatively impacted
Maintains fluid levels per daily requirements
Develops and maintains coolant level schedules to support production
Records production flows and down times to better monitor efficient use of coolants or problems that may arise
Stocks coolant stations on the production floor by using the fork truck
Leads and coordinates and lead chip cleanout of machines
Performs maintenance on pumps and centrifuges and prepares and maintains schedule
Researches and negotiates cost reduction on coolant items
Participates in improvement activities to support company and department goals
Ensures "first in first out" practices are maintained with inventory
Works with a variety of equipment such as fork trucks and tools to get products into place
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
Identifies unsafe operations and practices and reports the same to Manager immediately
High School or GED required
At least 1-3 years' experience in with basic mechanical and electrical machines and components
Ability to use hand and power tools
Knowledge of pneumatic vacuum and pressure filter systems
Must be able to read a refractometer
Fluent in reading and writing in the English language
Must be able to read blueprints, technical manuals, and engineering specifications
