Staten Island Care Center is seeking a dedicated
Cook
to join our culinary team! The ideal candidate will prepare and serve meals in accordance with planned menus while ensuring high-quality, nutritious, and appetizing meals for our residents.Responsibilities:
Prepare meals according to planned menus, portion control procedures, and therapeutic diet requirements. Ensure all meals are palatable, visually appealing, and served on time. Follow standardized recipes and accommodate special diet orders. Provide meal substitutions and bedtime snacks as needed. Maintain proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures. Assist with food preparation for special events and celebrations.
Requirements:
At least 1 year of experience in food service, preferably in a hospital, nursing home, or healthcare setting (not required). Knowledge of food preparation techniques and safety regulations. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
