We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Convenience Store Manager to oversee daily operations of our retail location. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, excellent customer service abilities, and comprehensive knowledge of retail management. This role involves managing staff, inventory, sales, and ensuring the store operates efficiently and profitably. The Convenience Store Manager will serve as the key point of contact for staff and customers, fostering a positive shopping environment while maintaining operational standards.
Duties
Lead and supervise store staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating employee performance
Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
Manage inventory levels through effective purchasing, stock control, and merchandising strategies
Handle cash register operations, cash handling, and POS system management with accuracy
Implement pricing strategies and promotional activities to maximize sales
Ensure excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly
Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in compliance with company policies
Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate goals, updates, and training initiatives
Monitor sales performance and develop strategies to meet or exceed sales targets
Manage payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, and administrative duties related to store management
Utilize organizational skills to coordinate marketing efforts and optimize store presentation
Enforce company policies on employee orientation, training & development, and shift management
Experience
Proven management experience in retail or grocery store environments with supervisory responsibilities
Strong background in retail sales, inventory management, and cash handling procedures
Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in team management and employee development
Familiarity with POS systems, merchandising techniques, and retail math principles
Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual abilities are a plus
Experience in budgeting, purchasing, pricing strategies, and sales management is preferred
Prior experience in recruiting, interviewing candidates, and conducting employee orientation is advantageous
Knowledge of wireless sales or grocery store operations can be beneficial but not mandatory
Organizational skills combined with effective time management are essential for success in this role
