Controls Engineer Indiana

Job Description

Gpac is partnering with a confidential manufacturer in Northern Indiana to identify a Controls Engineer. This role will support plant automation, instrumentation, and control systems while contributing to capital projects, system upgrades, and ongoing manufacturing support.
Key Responsibilities

  • Program, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI control systems
  • Design and engineer controls, instrumentation, and electrical systems
  • Support plant-wide software initiatives and automation rollouts
  • Assist with selection, procurement, and installation of control systems and instrumentation
  • Troubleshoot operational and automation-related issues on manufacturing and utility systems
  • Interface with vendors, contractors, and project teams
  • Perform and document technical design reviews
  • Support training of plant personnel on new and upgraded systems
  • Manage and support projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and food safety standards
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's or Technical degree preferred
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and industrial control systems
  • Experience with Wonderware or similar highly desired
  • Ability to read electrical and control schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with physical demands
