The Controls Engineer - Glass Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:

  • Design, program, and maintain PLC systems for automated glass manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and configure HMI interfaces for operator control and monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to integrate new equipment and upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and electrical codes.
  • Maintain documentation for control systems, including schematics, logic diagrams, and software backups.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance automation reliability and performance.

The ideal Controls Engineer - Glass Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1+ years of experience in controls engineering within manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms).
  • Experience with HMI development and SCADA systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and control systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking and communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.).
  • Experience in glass manufacturing or similar high-temperature, continuous process industries.
  • Familiarity with robotics and motion control systems.
  • Understanding of NFPA 79 and other relevant safety standards.
