We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the financial operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance, with a focus on ensuring accurate and timely financial statements. This role offers an opportunity to lead financial management efforts within a dynamic organization, supporting strategic decision-making and maintaining adherence to industry standards such as GAAP, IFRS, and SOX. The Controller will be instrumental in managing accounting functions across various sectors including non-profit, governmental, and corporate environments.
Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, and payroll processing.
Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and maintain adherence to GAAP, IFRS, and SOX standards.
Prepare, analyze, and present detailed financial reports and statements for internal management and external stakeholders.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to ensure accuracy of financial data.
Manage cash flow, cash management strategies, and forecasting activities to support organizational liquidity needs.
Lead month-end and year-end closing processes while ensuring timely completion of financial statements.
Supervise the maintenance of the general ledger system using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or other relevant platforms.
Perform technical accounting tasks including journal entries, debits & credits, and account reconciliations.
Support budgeting processes by providing financial insights and analysis to assist strategic planning.
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations related to governmental or non-profit accounting as required by the organization.
Collaborate with external auditors during audits and ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.
Taking care of invoicing making sure all customers are properly served.
Requirements
Proven experience in accounting roles with a strong understanding of financial concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and financial analysis.
Extensive knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance standards, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms; familiarity with financial management tools is essential.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed account analysis and financial forecasting.
Excellent written communication skills for preparing comprehensive financial reports.
Demonstrated ability in cash management and budgeting processes.
Technical expertise in general ledger reconciliation, payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, and account analysis.
Financial acumen combined with a thorough understanding of debits & credits within complex organizational structures. This position requires a professional committed to accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial oversight to support organizational growth and stability.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
