We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the financial operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in accounting, financial management, and regulatory compliance, with a strong understanding of industry standards such as GAAP and IFRS. This pivotal role requires strategic oversight of financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and integrity across all financial activities. The Controller will lead a team of accounting professionals and collaborate with executive leadership to support organizational growth and compliance.
Duties
Manage all aspects of accounting functions including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
Oversee financial report writing, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, and other regulatory standards.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to maintain accurate financial records.
Lead the preparation of regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with governmental and non-profit accounting standards.
Supervise cash management activities, including forecasting, cash flow analysis, and banking relationships.
Oversee the use of accounting software and other financial management tools to streamline operations.
Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions involving double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and financial concepts.
Develop budgets, perform variance analysis, and support strategic planning initiatives through detailed financial analysis.
Ensure adherence to corporate policies and regulatory requirements related to financial reporting.
Lead audits and coordinate with external auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
Extensive experience in accounting roles with a focus on corporate accounting; cooperative experience is a plus.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS compliance standards, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Proficiency in accounting software with the ability to learn new systems and other financial management tools quickly.
Demonstrated expertise in financial report writing, balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting.
Excellent understanding of cash management practices including forecasting and liquidity management.
Proven ability to analyze complex financial data using financial concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits.
Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and account analysis.
Exceptional attention to detail with high-level organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
