About the Company
We are a multi-office architectural firm with teams in Boise, Minneapolis, and Austin, focused on high-quality nuclear, commercial, Industrial, retail, multi-family, storage, and interior design design. As our firm continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Controller to manage financial operations and support long term organizational planning.
Job Summary
The Controller oversees all accounting, reporting, and financial management functions across the firm. This role works closely with leadership, supervises accounting staff, and ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data across three offices.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily accounting operations (AP/AR, payroll, general ledger)
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal policies
Oversee project accounting, billing, invoicing, and timekeeping
Partner with project managers on financial tracking and performance
Coordinate annual audit and tax filings (multi-state)
Manage financial controls, accounting software, and process improvements
Supervise accounting staff and support professional development
Oversee insurance, risk management, and compliance documentation
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA or CMA preferred
5-10+ years of progressive accounting experience
Experience in architecture, engineering, or similar professional services highly preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP and multi-office financial management
Proficiency with accounting/project management systems
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Preferred Skills:
Experience with architectural or professional services project accounting
Multi-state payroll or tax compliance experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $140,000.00 - $195,000.00 per year
