The Controller is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and controlling all financial and accounting operations of the company. Their main role is to ensure the accuracy of financial statements, compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, and budget control for construction projects. Additionally, they support strategic decision-making through financial analysis and timely management reporting.
Responsibilities:
Supervise accounting processes, monthly and annual closings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
Coordinate project budget control, comparing estimated vs. actual costs and generating alerts on deviations.
Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard assets and optimize financial efficiency.
Prepare financial reports, profitability analysis, cash flow, and projections for executive management.
Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring the availability and reliability of information.
Collaborate with the operations and projects department to validate costs, estimates, and change orders.
Manage compliance with tax, labor, and regulatory obligations applicable to the construction sector.
Propose strategies to improve profitability, reduce costs, and strengthen the company's financial management.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a similar role within the construction sector.
Knowledge of project accounting, budgets, direct and indirect costs.
Proficiency in accounting systems (QuickBooks, Sage, or others) and financial analysis tools (advanced Excel).Analytical skills, attention to detail, and results-oriented mindset.
Ability to work in a team, under pressure, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
