Job Description

Overview:

The Control Desk Specialist is responsible for assisting the healthcare team with clerical duties and facilitates communication and contributes to patient care. Technical aspects of patient care are performed under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The Control Desk Specialist participates in scheduling of appointments and assisting with billing/charges for patient accounts. The Patient Care Tech assures that each patient and family he/she comes into contact with receives prompt recognition and assistance and is treated with the utmost courtesy.

Responsibilities:
Control Desk Specialist is responsible for clerical duties of the clinic. Complete final step of registration; arrival in EMR Chart preparation Phone management Notification of patient and reminder calls Facilitate communication between team members utilizing Vocera
Control Specialist assists in patient flow when clinic is busy
Rooming patients Cleaning rooms Assisting with patient needs

Qualifications:

Education: High School Graduate
Experience:
Previous clerical experience Experiences with clinic or hospital based EMR preferred. Good understanding or prior use of the following programs or ability to train quickly: Excel, Word Clerical experience Phone management experience * Able to multi-task and attention to detail
