Jobtracks Caribbean is currently seeking an Accountant to fill a vacancy in the distribution and logistics sector, located in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. The ideal candidates will be responsible for the financial and fiscal processes of the company. This position requires technical mastery of the complete accounting cycle, accuracy in handling financial data and compliance with current regulatory frameworks. The position involves interaction with different departments and generation of key reports for decision making.

Accountant Requirements

An Accountant must have a bachelor's degree in accounting. At least 2 years of accounting experience and 1 year of auditing experience. An Accountant must be proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. An Accountant must have attention to detail, accuracy, and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. An accountant must be able to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.

Accountant Responsibilities

Perform accounting records in the financial system, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with applicable standards. An Accountant must prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial reports, including bank reconciliations and accounting closings. Oversee the consistency of transactions in the general ledgers and validate account balances. Collaborate with other functional areas to validate accounting information related to internal operations. An Accountant must contribute to internal and external audits by preparing supporting documentation and required analysis. Generate financial performance reports, metrics (KPIs) and other statistical reports as required. Ensure compliance with tax obligations and requirements of the Department of Treasury or other fiscal entities. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Must be available to work overtime and holidays.
