Zachary Piper is seeking a Consulting Engineer (Network) - TS/SCI in the Oakton, Virginia area. The Consulting Engineer (Network) - TS/SCI will support secure government environments with a focus on network routing, switching, protocol-level analysis, and packet capture review. The Consulting Engineer (Network) - TS/SCI is onsite in Oakton, VA five days a week and must hold an active TS/SCI clearance
Responsibilities for the Consulting Engineer (Network) - TS/SCI include:
Analyze PCAP data for threat, anomaly, and performance identification
Conduct protocol-level analysis (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, SMTP, TLS, VPN)
Establish and maintain baseline profiles for "normal" network behavior
Optimize and operationalize monitoring tools including ExtraHop, SolarWinds, and Splunk
Tune alerts, dashboards, and data feeds based on network traffic sources
Develop technical and non-technical reports and actionable insights
Mentor junior engineers and analysts on advanced traffic analysis techniques
Assist in configuring Cisco products for enhanced monitoring
Document improved network monitoring and troubleshooting procedures
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Requirements for the Consulting Engineer (Network) - TS/SCI include:
Active TS/SCI clearance
Strong background in network routing and switching
Experience analyzing PCAP data and conducting packet capture reviews
Familiarity with taps in the environment and network traffic baselining
Ability to work onsite in Oakton, VA five days a week
Compensation for the Consulting Engineer (Network) - TS/SCI:
$297,440- $323,440 annually
Full comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and sick leave as required by law
