Description

The successful candidate will work as an Engineer in a collaborative team-focused environment assisting in determining and recommending the best designs based on customer business objectives, timelines and other resource constraints. This position requires a dynamic, innovative, self-starting problem solver. In addition, the candidate will:

  • Have a better understanding how the customer\xe2\x80\x99s applications work together and is maintained in the environment.
  • Understand the customer\xe2\x80\x99s infrastructure
  • Must be able to analyze and problem solve technical issues with little guidance
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Must have enhanced IT and computer engineering skills
  • Must be innovative to lend new approaches and methods to increase efficiency and productivity
  • Must have outstanding communication skills
Typical responsibilities include:
  • Manage and monitor current/all applications
  • Install applications as needed
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain application, OS, and related software tools
  • Ensure we maintain a high level of application, systems and infrastructure availability
  • Identify possible solutions and work with developers, engineers, and other team members to implement the solutions
  • Support the development of all application documentation and support documentation
  • May need to participate in the design and development and systems
  • Networking knowledge is a plus
  • Provide Tier 3 support as need
  • May need to support the transition of applications to the Cloud (e.g. AWS, Azure)
  • Moderate Cloud experience and knowledge is a plus
  • Support adhoc PM requirements
  • Support the development and testing of requirements for our application
  • Support all A&A activities including documentation
Required skills:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 15+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience. Additional experience in lieu of degree.
  • Must have 6+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in software engineering, applications development and deployment
  • Must have 4+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience with Linux (e.g. RedHat), VMware, Apache (middleware) and performing Linux systems administration
  • Experience with Windows system administration
  • Experience with firewalls and with network connectivity
  • Experience/knowledge with databases (e.g. Siebel, Oracle)
  • Extensive understanding of both Type-1 and Type-2 encryption, including virtual private networks (VPNs) from both an engineering and implementation perspectives
  • Perform a full range of functional and performance testing on a continuous basis
