Job Description

The Construction Superintendent will oversee and manage on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role is ideal for individuals with hands-on construction experience and a strong ability to coordinate teams and resources.
We're seeking an experienced and driven Construction Superintendent to join our team and oversee a large-scale healthcare facility project of approximately 100,000 square feet. The ideal candidate will take ownership of on-site operations, ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate diverse teams and subcontractors to achieve top-quality results.Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Project Manager to develop, monitor, and maintain the project schedule.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the Project Manager through meetings, calls, and site updates.
  • Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities, including workforce scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Arrange and manage required inspections per permitting processes.
  • Communicate schedule changes promptly and with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Oversee all aspects of field construction, particularly in Healthcare or Senior Living facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings to ensure alignment with specifications and project goals.
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance processes throughout all project phases.
  • Utilize project management software (e.g., Procore, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams) to track progress and job costing.
  • Foster collaboration among subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth field operations.
  • Conduct regular job site inspections to monitor work progress and address issues proactively.
  • Arrive on-site early to verify site readiness and ensure subcontractor productivity.
  • Notify the Project Manager of any quality concerns or performance issues.
  • Coordinate timely delivery of materials to avoid schedule disruptions.
  • Maintain a positive and professional environment, mediating disputes between trades when necessary.
  • Perform frequent safety walks, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and posting of required notices.
  • Address and report safety violations immediately and assist safety personnel as needed.
  • Handle on-site emergencies and resolve conflicts efficiently.
  • Prepare and submit daily or weekly progress reports as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Review and sign T&M tickets as appropriate and forward to the Project Manager.
  • Represent the company with professionalism at all times while on-site.
  • Participate in company meetings, training sessions, and engagement programs as scheduling allows.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent, ideally with exposure to Healthcare or Senior Living projects.
  • Strong understanding of quality control and construction best practices.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience using Procore or other construction management platforms preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Solid understanding of local building codes and safety regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and adaptable to learning new software tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with all stakeholders.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and strong math skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.
