Construction Manager

The Construction Manager provides leadership and administrative oversight in the planning, implementation, and management of multiple capital projects, providing day-to-day management and professional oversight of the construction teams while focusing on company goals and adhering to all policies and procedures.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs and/or contributes to thorough process design reviews, Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPS) and \xe2\x80\x9cWhat If\xe2\x80\x9d analyses on current operations as well as proposed changes to plant equipment, processes and systems via the plant Process Safety Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • Interacts routinely with operators, shift supervisors and management to communicate real-time project status as well as communicating any future needs or issues.
  • Performs and/or contributes to Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA\xe2\x80\x99s) and incident investigations and completes assigned action items on schedule.
  • Identifies and facilitates implementation of production, reliability, efficiency and cost improvement opportunities.
  • Participates in joint plant/equipment/safety walkthroughs with operations and maintenance.
  • Ensures projects are successfully integrated into the planning and execution of planned outages and turnarounds.
  • Executes projects via a project team that includes production engineers, maintenance engineers, equipment specialists, and operations/maintenance personnel.
  • Coordinates schedules of all in-house and outside contractor\xe2\x80\x99s construction work.
  • Develops project cost estimates, controls and tracks project cost. Report on project cost status (KPI) on a routine basis.
  • Develop bid packages (RFQ) including detailed scope-of-work to include any associated specifications.
  • Initiate and/or review equipment specifications. Initiate equipment procurement process and work with procurement department to assure accurate tracking of equipment ordering and delivery.
  • Develops project execution schedule, controls and tracks project schedule. Report on project schedule (KPI) on a routine basis.
  • Manages scope changes, document and track all scope changes accordingly.
  • Proficient with project management software.
  • Performs sufficient up-front engineering to adequately define project scope, technical risks, estimate and schedule before AFE preparation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Education \xe2\x80\x93 no minimum education requirements.

Experience \xe2\x80\x93 5 plus years in project execution and management. High personal standards of personnel and process safety. Project management software experience.

Must pass drug screen, as a condition of employment.
