Responsibilities

Monitor construction activities and verify adherence to plans and specifications. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to address construction-related issues. Review project documentation, including plans, drawings, and specifications, to verify accuracy and completeness. Materials inspection and acceptance prior to installation. Track, document, and manage project issues and conditions. Document field conditions and completed work. Participate in project meetings and provide technical expertise and guidance on construction inspection matters; and record meeting minutes when needed. Contribute and help prepare monthly project status reports.

Qualifications

College degree in civil engineering or construction management; or equivalent certification. NICET, CMIT, EIT, CCM, PE or equivalent certification preferred. Min. 1-year of experience for Entry Level Inspectors, and a Min of 5-years of experience for Senior Inspectors. Proven experience as a Construction Inspector or similar role, with a strong knowledge of construction practices and techniques. Meet background check requirements (TWIC Card). 10 Hour OSHA. Rail and Bridge infrastructure experience preferred. Ability to perform quantity and engineering computations, to read and interpret plans and specifications; and understand the fundamentals of necessary inspection codes and requirements for material testing. Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and standards. Proficient in using computer software and mobile devices for documentation and reporting purposes. Physical ability to perform site inspections and work in various weather conditions. Must be detail-oriented, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
