As the Construction Inspector, you will support the successful delivery of active projects by engaging in hands-on construction-phase activities alongside inspectors, engineers, and architects--taking pride in work that directly contributes to stronger, better communities. You collaborate with experienced architects, civil engineers, and a diverse team of multidisciplinary professionals to deliver essential infrastructure projects--including buildings, roadways, and public water, sanitary, and storm sewer systems.
Reporting to a Senior Construction Inspector or Project Manager, you synthesize field information, produce clear, accurate reports, and guide assignments through to successful completion.
What you'll do
Communicate with internal team and clients throughout the construction processes
Perform field observation/inspection tasks for various construction activities, particularly during critical operations
Verify compliance with predetermined project plans and specifications
Review information and assemble daily construction reports and other documentation, accounting for detail and accuracy
Keep track of contract quantities, recording daily quantities in each report
Coordinate with owners, contractors, regulatory agencies, utility officials and other external project personnel as necessary
What You Bring
Interest in construction inspection as it relates to Architecture, Structural, and Civil Engineering
CPESC and OSHA 10 certification, or willing to obtain
You have a valid driver's license
General computer skills, including experience using a Tablet as well as Microsoft Office
Able to work effectively with Engineers-in-Charge, designated Office Engineers, and Project Manager
Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications
Ability to prepare daily construction reports and other important documents

The rate for this position generally ranges between $29-$40 hourly. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employees already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law.
