, an engineering & construction management company is currently looking to hire a full-time

Construction Inspector

(CI)

to provide construction inspection services in

Kodiak, Alaska.

The Construction Inspector will be responsible for the following:

Monitor quality of construction activities, provide assurance that construction contractors are providing quality control. Inspect on-going construction, document problems, and recommend solutions, in professional manner. Perform constructability reviews of project and contract documents. Coordinate between fieldwork, affected organizations, and government. Work with local client staff to explain and inform on construction activities.

Salary:

$100,000.00 - $128,000.00 per year

Minimum Experience/Technical Requirements for Construction Inspectors

Experienced Tradesperson Inspector:

High School Level Education At least 10 years total experience in Construction/Facility Management, Construction Supervision, Construction Management, or Quality Control. At least 5 years of construction oversight experience w/in the last 10 years on projects with a construction dollar value of approximately $500K-$5M (per project). Experience with design-build, or design-bid-build contracts. Experience as a construction superintendent, providing both supervision and QA/QC duties. Experience with facility and building systems (building envelope, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and structural, etc.) as well as managing all building trades, subcontracts and construction safety. Demonstrated hands-on experience in inspecting facilities and construction for compliance with contract requirements. Physically, workers must be able to; climb and maintain body balance; use hands and arms fully; stand, kneel, bend, crawl, or crouch for long periods; and see well (either naturally or with correction).
Engineer/Architect Inspector:

4-year Architecture/Engineering Degree At least 5 years total experience inspecting or managing multiple construction contracts. At least 3 years of construction oversight experience w/in the last 7 years on projects with a construction dollar value of approximately $500K-$5M (per project). Experience with design-build, or design-bid-build contracts. QA/QC inspector experience and knowledge of managing multi-trade construction projects. Demonstrated hands-on experience in inspecting facilities and construction for compliance with contract requirements. Physically, workers must be able to; climb and maintain body balance; use hands and arms fully; stand, kneel, bend, crawl, or crouch for long periods; and see well (either naturally or with correction).
