Job Description

Nowak Construction is looking for a reliable hard-working individual to join our team. We're located 10 minutes west of Wichita, KS off US 400 HWY. Employee will be working on Installation of waterlines, sanitary sewer lines and systems, and storm drainage systems. Trench-less installation for water and sewer lines by Horizontal Directional Drilling is also completed routinely. Other capabilities are trench-less replacement of non-metallic pipelines using the pipe reaming process. Moderate site preparation can also be part of the job task. Most jobs are in the state of Kansas but we do work in surrounding states.

Job Responsibilities

Performs work in compliance with all safety rules and procedures. Recognizes and alerts supervisor of hazards or safety concerns. Digging, shoveling dirt and spreading gravel using pick and shovel. Loads, unloads, and identifies construction materials and tools and distributes them to the appropriate locations according to Foreman and/or Superintendent Instructions. Cleans construction sites to eliminate possible hazards along with tools and materials. Erects and disassembles scaffolding, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures. Completes tasks assigned within specified timeline. Follows all safety rules and procedures.

Basic knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety procedures Ability to read simple instructions, tape measure, construction drawings and specifications Must be willing to travel when needed (Mon-Fri) Willing to work 40-60 hours per week Able to lift items weighing up to fifty pounds Current valid Driver's License Provide own transportation and housing when working local
