Job Description

Overview:





Construction Framers, also known as framing carpenters, are skilled tradespeople specializing in constructing the structural framework of buildings and other structures. They play a crucial role in the early stages of construction, framing walls, floors, and roofs according to architectural plans and specifications.




Key Responsibilities:





Interpretation of Blueprints and Layout:


Study and interpret construction blueprints, drawings, and layout plans to understand the structural requirements of the project.

Determine the layout, dimensions, and materials needed for framing components, including walls, floors, and roofs.


Wall Framing:




Assemble and erect wooden or metal stud walls according to layout plans, ensuring plumb, level, and square alignment.

Install headers, sills, and cripple studs around openings for doors, windows, and other penetrations in walls.


Floor Framing:




Construct floor framing systems, including joists, beams, and subflooring, to support the weight of the structure and provide a level surface for subsequent construction.

Install blocking, bridging, and bracing as necessary to reinforce floor framing and prevent sagging or shifting.


Roof Framing:




Build roof trusses or rafters and install them on top of walls to form the structural framework for the roof.

Install sheathing, fascia, and soffit materials to enclose and protect the roof framing from the elements.


Installation of Structural Components:




Install structural components, such as studs, joists, beams, and columns, using appropriate fasteners and hardware to ensure stability and load-bearing capacity.

Incorporate insulation, vapor barriers, and other weatherproofing materials into framing assemblies to enhance energy efficiency and weather resistance.


Safety and Quality Assurance:




Adhere to all safety regulations, procedures, and protocols to prevent accidents and promote a safe working environment.

Perform quality inspections of framing work to verify compliance with building codes, structural requirements, and industry standards.



Qualifications:
