In this hands-on role, you'll travel to jobsites to capture precise measurements of existing building conditions using advanced 3D laser scanning technology. The data you collect will serve as the foundation for design, fabrication, and installation of structural steel projects across the country. Your work ensures accuracy, efficiency, and coordination throughout the entire fabrication and erection process. This role requires travel and occasional extended stays near project locations. Key Responsibilities
Travel regularly to jobsite to perform field verification using advanced 3D scanning equipment such as the Trimble XD 7 Scanner for a range of conditions including:
Concrete and steel buildings
Stair towers, ramps, and shafts
Anchor bolts, beam lines, and structural layouts
Build and maintain strong relationships with General Contractors, subcontractors, and site partners to ensure collaboration and smooth field operations.
Set up and calibrate scanning equipment to achieve precise, reliable data.
Mark up or provide detailed sketches of field conditions and measurements.
Process raw scan data using specialized software to create accurate 3D models and point clouds.
Conduct quality control checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of models.
Communicate clearly with project managers, detailers, and design staff to relay field conditions and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain adherence to company safety protocols and behavioral standards.
Reliably log, save, and deliver scanned data to the appropriate project teams.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
Valid driver's license in good standing with a clean driving record.
Technical training or experience with 3D laser scanning, Trimble, or Tekla strongly preferred.
Proficiency with collaboration platforms, laptops, tablets, and field measurement tools preferred.
Must have strong communication skills.
Ability to read, interpret, and markup drawings electronically.
Willingness to travel and work independently in field environments.
Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, kneeling, bending, and climbing occasionally.
Commitment to workplace safety and professionalism in all field activities.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
