Job Description

Healthcare and Mission Critical-focused GC seeking an Estimator to join the team and help lead growth long-term. This position will involve preconstruction estimating based on conceptual drawings and in-house trade allocation. You will collaborate heavily with cross-functional teams across architecture, engineering, design, and construction.

Reporting directly into the VP, the main duties and responsibilities of the Estimating Manager will include the following:

  • Estimate from both concept designs and complete designs
  • Assist design team with budgetary pricing at various stages in design development
  • Consult with self-perform divisions to obtain accurate costs
  • Completion of all aspects of project bidding including plan and specification takeoff, vendor contact and tracking, bid form completion, pricing, bid review and submission
  • Scope and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with the development, updating and implementation of an estimating database with assemblies
  • Assist or lead the process of implementation of estimating program software system
  • Maintain a cost history data base
  • Review estimates with design team and/or construction team
  • Interact with clients and design team as needed to evaluate conceptual and detailed estimates
  • Assist Project Manager with project budget set up once projects are awarded

  • Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in the Construction Industry
  • 2+ years of experience as a Lead Estimator
  • Experience estimating in-house trades is an advantage
  • Experience estimating MEP and drywall packages will be of high value
  • Experience with technology, such as estimating, scheduling, project management.
  • High level of communication skills to be able to lead meetings and presentations in a way that builds confidence, trust, and success with clients.
