Construction Estimator - Architectural Metals - Base Salary to 110k/year - Queens, NY
- Our client who is a leading commercial metal fabrication company in Queens is seeking a Construction Estimator with experience in ornamental metals, enclosures, architectural metal systems, and custom mechanical components. The department is newly restructured, offering major opportunities for advancement.
- Perform detailed takeoffs from architectural and structural drawings
- Prepare estimates, budgets, and bid packages for commercial projects
- Analyze project specifications, scope documents, and material requirements
- Coordinate with engineering, project management, and fabrication teams
- Build and maintain vendor relationships for accurate material pricing
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and client calls when needed
- Assist in developing standardized estimating processes and templates
- Work on multiple bids simultaneously in a high-volume environment
- 3+ years experience estimating commercial metal fabrication or architectural specialty projects
- Strong ability to read architectural and structural drawings
- Proficiency in takeoffs, measurements, and cost breakdowns
- Experience with Excel, on-screen takeoff tools, or PDF markup software
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Familiarity with NYC commercial construction is a plus
- Base salary in the 75k - 110k/year range
