The Role

This position is responsible for the configuration management of all Virginia Class Submarine (VCS) products and services and must have a working knowledge of Drawings, Liabilities and Construction. Able to interface with EB, Navy, SUPSHIP, and other Construction and Engineering departments in a professional manner. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.

Plans and coordinates preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met. Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes. Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system. Coordinates modification records for management control. Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.

Must Have

Bachelor\'s Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience; Master\'s Degree and 4 year of relevant professional experience

One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor\'s Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate\'s Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
Nice to Have

It is highly preferred that a candidate has experience in construction. Knowledge of Drawings & Liabilities and Construction Processes. Above average skills with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills.
