The Opportunity

Delaware North Sportservice is hiring for a Concessions Intern to join our team at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts for the Winter/Spring 2024 Season! The Concessions Intern at TD Garden will play an integral role in supporting the concessions department during events and day-to-day operations. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced sports and entertainment industry while contributing to the overall success of the concessions team.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Assist with providing excellent customer service to arena guests, ensuring a positive and memorable concessions experience.
• Inventory Management: Help monitor inventory levels, restock supplies, and assist with inventory control to ensure smooth operations during events.
• Event Set-Up and Breakdown: Participate in concession stand setup and breakdown activities, including organizing equipment and displaying products.
• Food Safety and Hygiene: Adhere to and promote food safety guidelines and sanitation practices to maintain a clean and safe concession environment.
• Point-of-Sale (POS) Operations: Assist in operating the POS system, processing transactions, and handling credit card payments.
• Menu Execution: Support the execution of concession menu items, including food preparation, serving, and handling special requests.
• Customer Engagement: Engage with customers to answer inquiries, provide recommendations, and ensure their satisfaction.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with concessions team members to achieve operational goals and enhance overall efficiency.
• Special Projects: Contribute to special projects or initiatives led by various departments, leveraging your skills and insights to enhance TD Garden\'s offerings and operations.
• Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements and innovative ideas that enhance the concessions department\'s efficiency and overall guest satisfaction.
• Professional Development: Take advantage of networking opportunities within TD Garden and actively participate in workshops or training sessions to develop professional skills and industry knowledge.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Post-graduate or graduate level (completed or in progress) in hospitality management, sports management, business administration, or related fields. OR Demonstrated passion for the sports and entertainment industry and a desire to learn and grow within the concessions field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
• Detail-oriented and organized, capable of multitasking and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team, taking initiative to support team members when needed.
• Customer service-oriented mindset, committed to providing exceptional experiences for arena guests.
• Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards is a plus but not required (training will be provided).
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on event schedules.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Constant lifting, twisting, reaching, bending, and repetitive motions.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
