Position Summary:





The Computer Specialist III will play a critical role in supporting the technology needs of our Washington, DC location. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, analyze business requirements, develop technical specifications, and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



Respond to IT support requests over the phone, via email and in person. Address and resolve complex technical issues related to hardware, software, and networks. Use ticketing systems to track, manage, and resolve user-submitted issues, ensuring timely resolution. Document recurring issues and their solutions to build and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base. Provide advanced technical support and guidance to end-users through various channels, including remote assistance. Coordinate with other IT staff and external vendors to resolve issues requiring specialized expertise. Assist with system maintenance tasks like patching, updates, and managing user accounts. Maintain and support conference room systems and assist in setting up meetings as well as training users on the correct use of the equipment as needed. Evaluate need for new and revised systems, identify possible improvements, and make recommendations for purchases of new hardware and software. Determine when issues need to be escalated to the support teams or external vendors for resolution. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:



In-depth and current knowledge of computer programs and hardware. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Superior verbal and written communication skills to explain technical issues and guide users effectively. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS), SaaS and other cloud-based services, networking concepts, and Microsoft 365. Strong ethical standards and integrity. Detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable to changing priorities.



Education, Certifications, and Experience:




Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. At least five years' experience in an IT specialist role. CompTIA Security+ and/or Network+ certification preferred.



Physical Requirements:




Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.



Travel Expectations:




Expected travel: Minimal to None. Periodic travel to HQ for meetings may be required.

The anticipated salary range for this role is $65,760 - $82,200, based on factors such as experience, skills, required location, and available funding. This range reflects that base salary and does not include any possible bonuses or benefits. Actual compensation may vary and will be determined during the interview process and in accordance with applicable laws.
