Job Description

Devon Preparatory School, a Catholic, college preparatory school for young men in grades six to twelve, is seeking a Computer Science Teacher .

The successful candidate is expected to:

Teach middle and/or high school computer science courses (e.g., introductory programming, AP Computer Science, data science, or related electives) Design engaging, hands-on, and project-based learning experiences Help students develop computational thinking, problem-solving, and logical reasoning skills Make computer science meaningful and relevant to students' everyday lives and future careers Implement student-centered instructional practices Differentiate instruction and assessment to meet the needs of diverse learners Utilize technology enthusiastically to enhance instruction and student learning Proactively communicate with students and parents Serve as an academic advisor to current students Collaborate with colleagues and seek opportunities for interdisciplinary learning Perform additional duties such as advising a club, substituting classes, or chaperoning events, as needed
Professional qualifications and personal qualities include:

Minimum B.S. in Computer Science or a related field Teaching certification or relevant teaching experience preferred Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and development A sense of humor, warmth of personality, and enthusiasm for working with students Flexibility and a collaborative mindset
