Ensure confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information; adhere to company security policies
Adjust, manipulate, and respond to console requests, commands, workflow procedures, and job processes
Determine source of system errors, malfunctions, job stoppages, and program information to ensure that operation standards are met and upheld
Operate and maintain peripheral equipment as required, including tape drives, hard disk drives, printers, and consoles
Monitor systems activity/performance and report issues/errors to appropriate IT support staff
Execute and verify successful completion of processes as scheduled. Document and follow up on abnormal job executions.
Ensure backup media is transferred to the appropriate off-site
Assist with Helpdesk support questions/issues/problems from corporate and remote system customers related to hardware and system software. Reroute issues or problems to appropriate IT personnel during non-staffed hours
Performs system back-up process and troubleshoots / restores routine technical services, ensuring a stable operating environment.
Performs Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Scope of Responsibility:
Exercises immediate guidance, assigns and allocates work, and provides basic training
Performs defined tasks as per documented procedures / processes
Performs detailed work of the same or closely allied nature
Position has no budget or revenue responsibilities
Customer/Supplier Relationships:
Occasional contact with IBM for support purposes.
Occasional contact with Vendors for maintenance and support purposes.
Daily contact with User Communities for support purposes.
Skills:
Work consists of moderately complex procedures and tasks where intermediate analytic ability is required as in the selection or identification of appropriate guidelines and procedures, or the identification of appropriate actions to follow.
The position has moderate physical effort that requires lifting, carrying and moving materials or supplies.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Associate's degree or equivalent training
The position requires 2-4 years of related experience
