Community Compounding Pharmacy (CCP) is a compounding pharmacy, which is a pharmacy that custom makes medication to fit patients' specific needs. We are a retail pharmacy that specializes in naturopathic and integrative compounded medications. CCP is one of the largest compounding pharmacies in the Northwest. We ship not only to patients in Oregon, but we regularly fill and ship compounded prescriptions to patients across the U.S.

Position Overview
The Compounding Pharmacy Technician compounds and fills prescription orders in a controlled, non-sterile laboratory environment for a variety of compounded medications that take a variety of forms. This work is performed by following detailed processes and procedures and using CCP software systems.
Primary Responsibilities
The essential functions of the Compounding Pharmacy Technician include, but are not limited to:
Following detailed processes and procedures to compound basic medications and other healthcare products for patients using our lab equipment.
Filling orders from stock or measuring dosage of medications as per the prescription order and processing them through the software program.
Accurately labeling and recording dosage information and monitoring storage and inventory of medications and supplies.
Maintaining a clean and orderly workstation and supplies.
Working with the Pharmacists to address any issues or questions on formulations.
Working closely with the other Pharmacy Lab Technicians and Lab Manager to get product out on time.
Maintaining equipment and reporting excursions.
Staying current on required documentation and training.
Distributing prescription work orders when assigned to runner role.
Other Duties
Non-essential functions include, but are not limited to:
Special projects and assignments, as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
HIPAA Requirements:
The Compounding Pharmacy Technician may be exposed to PHI in the course of their duties and must handle protected health information (PHI) in a manner consistent with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and subsequent related laws and CCP policies. Applying the minimum necessary standard of HIPAA, the designated record sets to which this employee may have access include: PHI via the electronic business systems used by CCP. All employees are required to read the content of these records only to the extent needed to accomplish the assigned task.
Qualifications
Current Oregon Pharmacy Technician License.
Pharmacy Technician certification preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Work experience in a pharmacy environment preferred. Experience in a compounding pharmacy preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to adhere to ethical standards of conduct as well as applicable state and federal laws
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with using standard computer software applications like email, etc.
Ability to learn and utilize pharmacy software systems.
Ability to perform accurate work following prescribed processes and procedures.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
Physical and Mental Demands
This is primarily a lab-based position which requires sitting, standing, walking, bending and reaching.
Light lifting (up to 25lbs) is frequently required.
Dexterity and use of hands is required continuously for manipulating objects, typing, and use of a mouse and computer keyboard.
Visual acuity to allow for reading a computer screen, drug labels, directions, operating procedures and instructions is frequently necessary.
Talking and hearing is required frequently.
Concentrating is continuously required.
Immunization:
Staff members must meet immunization requirements as stated in CCP's immunization policy and state and federal guidelines.
