Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacy Technician, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and medication safety. In this vital role, you will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, managing medication inventories, and providing exceptional patient service in a fast-paced compounding and LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy setting. Your dedication to accuracy, efficiency, and compassionate care will ensure our patients receive the highest quality pharmaceutical support.
Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, including oral, topical, and IV medications.
Assist with medication intake processes by verifying prescriptions and ensuring proper documentation.
Maintain precise inventory management for pharmaceuticals, including ordering, stock rotation, and storage compliance.
Support patient service efforts by answering medication-related questions and providing clear instructions on medication usage.
Follow aseptic techniques during sterile compounding and IV infusion preparation to ensure patient safety.
Compound medication daily
Conduct routine quality checks on medication storage areas and maintain meticulous records of all pharmacy activities.
Uphold safety standards through adherence to aseptic procedures and infection control protocols during all pharmacy operations.
Proven pharmacy technician experience in compounding pharmacy environments.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and pharmacy operations.
Experience with compounding pharmacy practices.
Hands-on experience with IV infusion preparation and aseptic technique is essential for this role.
Familiar with USP 797/800 and able to follow the standards.
Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care responsibilities.
Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining high accuracy standards.
Certification as a pharmacy technician (e.g., PTCB or equivalent) is required; ongoing education in pharmacy practice is a plus.
