Job Description

Seeking a companion for our 28-year-old daughter with medical disabilities (breathing and digestion) and minor behavioral issues. We are looking for coverage for Sunday (9:15am-5PM); and Tuesday (9:15 - 5PM) and Thursday (9:15- 5PM). We can be flexible with the hours, and there may be other hours available.

A lot of the time will be spent going to places nearby to shop and to eat, and any activities you both can enjoy. Swimming in the summer in our pool is a must. We are open to suggestions on other activities. Some light housekeeping required. She is smart and friendly and wants to be occupied, engaged, and spoken to. She may need assistance dressing at times. MUST have a car to drive in and around Dix Hills, and a cell phone. There is SOME reimbursement for meals and gas.

We use an agency where Applicants will have to apply called Halo. All billable hours and expenses are billed through that agency. YOU MUST BE WILLING AND able to apply to the HALO agency and to submit bills online. Like many agencies you have to be diligent to get on, although WE WILL ASSIST YOU. You must be computer literate. A valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance is required, and HALO will want you to get fingerprinted. The process of submitting all the necessary documents for approval through the agency can take 1-3 weeks, so apply only if you are willing to invest the effort to get onto this agency.

You can start immediately, and we will pay you $16 per hour plus gas reimbursement until you get on HALO if we hire you. Once on HALO the hourly amount will increase to $25 per hour and you will also be reimbursed for meals at $10 per day, and SOME mileage reimbursement.

We seek someone who friendly, talkative, patient, and kind. Applicant must like small animals since we have a few.
