Your job in the department is to . . .

Lead in the performance of crisis assessments when de-escalating a crisis event, use clinical assessment skills, and lead the development of safety plans for persons who are transitioning to a lower level of care.

Your job also involves . . .

Leading in, and working with associate level mobile crisis workers, developing a plan for community services and referrals. Performing or consulting on the follow up contacts following an acute care crisis.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities

Crisis De-Escalation, Crisis Assessment, Safety Planning:

  • Respond in person or be available to consult with others who are responding, to any individual experiencing a behavioral health crisis in community-based settings.
  • Provide solution focused, strength based, person centered interventions, with the individual in crisis and their family or support network to address and de-escalate the current crisis.
  • Identify additional clinical services to meet the needs of the individual in crisis and assist in actively connecting the individual to services and supports whenever possible.
  • Perform, direct, or consult on follow up contacts with individuals and families after the initial contact.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in crisis response, based on evidence based best practices and theory.
  • May be assigned to perform duties of Commitment Investigator, Examiner, and "Aid and Assist" evaluations.
Documentation/Reporting:
  • Complete Clinical Documentation of Assessment, Interventions, follow up services and safety planning.
  • Assist in the collection of Key Performance Indicators.
Education:
  • Provide mobile crisis program and crisis skills training education to community partners when requested, or as needed.
  • Participate in required training to maintain competencies in mobile crisis response.
Typical Qualifications

Minimum Education Level

Masters

Specifics: A Master\'s in human services, nursing, rehabilitation, or similar behavioral health field.

Minimum Experience Level

One year

Specifics: Providing clinical services directly to individuals, families, and groups. One Year, working with others in a human services or related field.

Substitution Note: Will consider experience in highly acute situations, such as emergency medical response, firefighting, disaster response, law enforcement, security, or related field.

Certifications

Certification(s) required

Specifics: QMHP certification through MHACBO required. See the MHACBO site for current certification requirements. Employee is required to maintain current and active certification and to provide the appropriate verification at the time of renewals.

Driver\'s License

Oregon Driver\'s License required

Specifics: Must obtain within 30 days of hire.

Other Licenses - (Only required for Community-Based Mobile Crisis Worker - Professional 5)

Professional License required (list below)

Specifics: LPC, LCSW, or LMFT required. The employee is required to maintain current and active licensure and to provide the appropriate verifications at the time of renewals.
COVID 19 Vaccination

Knowledge of:
  • Clinical theory, principles, and practices of crisis response.

  • Privacy, Confidentiality, and Ethics in Healthcare.
Skill or ability to:
  • Document clinical activities in the electronic health record (EHR) both effectively and efficiently.
  • Integrate an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the interactions with others, both inside and outside of the organization.
  • Practice self-care, stress management techniques, and understand professional boundaries to assure ability to effectively work in acute settings.
  • Be organized, know how to triage, be able to communicate intent when there may be multiple requests for your assistance at one time.
  • Convey information, ideas, and facts both orally and in writing to supervisors, colleagues, and individuals, inside and outside the county, using language and a format the audience will best understand.
  • Utilize computers and other technology to communicate in written and verbal forms (e.g., word processing, texts, emails, spreadsheets, department-specific software).
  • Effectively relate well with others, including supervisors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the county. Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and working to maintain constructive working relationships.
  • Take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work. Show up to work on time, and follows instructions, policies, and procedures. Meet productivity standards, deadlines, and work schedules.
Desirable Qualifications:

Bilingual and/or bicultural competencies for the Latino population are preferred.

Job Conditions and Physical Demands

WORKING CONDITIONS

Job Conditions: Work with other professionals in performing these duties. Primarily respond to requests for assistance in the community (i.e., people\'s homes, at storefronts, at the library, at emergency shelters...wherever the person in crisis is located) as long as it is safe to do so. May be required to transport and provide side-by-side support to individuals in a county-owned vehicle to help connect them with needed resources.

Work Location: Lincoln County.

Travel: Travel throughout the County is required; travel outside of the County may be required for education, networking, training.
