Job Description

Backroads of Appalachia is a non-profit organization with a passion for the Appalachian region. Through motorsports focused tourism, we work to drive economic development, job training, and opportunity in the impoverished areas of Appalachia. The Community Liaison VISTA will help to strengthen Backroads of Appalachia's long term capacity by expanding high-impact community engagements initiatives, increasing organizational visibility, fostering deeper partnerships and generating new revenue streams through sponsorships and donations. The Community Liaison VISTA will elevate Backroads of Appalachia's event model, implementing scalable engagement systems and build powerful relationships that directly support economic development, recovery-to-work initiatives and job creation throughout Central Appalachia. Through the work with Backroads of Appalachia the VISTA will assist in bringing new economic advancemnt in these poverty stricken areas.

Member Duties :

The Community Liaison VISTA will build long-term sustainability by transitioning Backroads of Appalachia's community engagement from small or mid-scale outreach to large-scale regional events, strategic partnerships and enhanced donor/sponsorship pipelines. The VISTA will implement advanced engagement frameworks, lead high-level event coordination and expand Backroads of Appalachia's impact footprint across multiple Appalachian counties. VISTA will help in planning new activities at events held by Backroads of Appalachia.
