The Department of Admissions invites applications for a Community Engagement and Visitor Coordinator to join their team. As the Community Engagement and Visitor Coordinator, your role involves not only fostering connections with the community and prospective students but also overseeing certain aspects of the campus visit and outreach programs. While you won\'t be directly managing a team of employees, your position will require you to collaborate with various individuals and coordinate tasks effectively.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Foster and nurture relationships with local schools, community organizations, and relevant stakeholders to increase the university\'s outreach and encourage participation in campus visits.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Events and Experience to meticulously plan and execute captivating campus visit programs for both individual visitors and groups from community organizations.
  • Serve as a bridge between the university and community partners, addressing inquiries, providing information, and facilitating partnerships that resonate with the university\'s mission.
  • Oversee the management and distribution of promotional items (swag), ensuring appropriate allocation for campus visit programs, community events, and other outreach initiatives. This includes coordinating inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining records to facilitate smooth distribution.
  • Collaborate closely with the Campus Visit Coordinator to harmonize the visitor experience and ensure a seamless execution of daily visit requirements.
  • Manage event and group visit logistics, encompassing registration, communication, and coordination of materials for community outreach events and group tours.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive resources and materials for community partners, including information packets, swag, presentation materials, and virtual resources.
  • Participate in training programs to stay well-informed about the university\'s offerings and refine your presentation and communication skills.
  • Assist in the coordination of virtual events and information sessions for community partners and groups unable to participate in person.
Required Skills
  • Ability to speak knowledgably about UM and answer questions about academic programs, financial aid, student life, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information and engage with diverse audiences, including groups, prospective students, families, community partners, and university staff.
  • Ability to make presentations and represent the University of Montana in a professional manner in multiple cultural settings.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage event logistics, schedules, materials, and outreach efforts effectively and efficiently.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid Montana\xe2\x80\x99s Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License.
Minimum Required Experience
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree and two (2) years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, some evenings and weekends required.

Probationary Period: Six months minimum
