The City of Raleigh's Community Engagement Department is seeking a collaborative and service-oriented

Community Engagement Analyst

to join our

Neighborhood Services Division

. This role plays a vital part in strengthening the City's investment in our neighborhoods and its citizens.



As the Community Engagement Analyst, your role is more than a job - it's a chance to serve as a vital link between the city and its residents. You'll help address neighborhood challenges, educate community members, and coordinate programs that strengthen civic participation. Your responsibilities include leading outreach and capacity-building efforts, as well as supporting neighborhoods with beautification initiatives.



This hybrid position reports to the Neighborhood Services Supervisor in the Neighborhood Services Division and includes two telework days per week. Some regular evening and weekend work is required for programs and trainings.

Duties and Responsibilities

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.



What You'll Do:





Oversee and streamline the intake, tracking, and distribution of requests and supplies for the Raleigh Neighborhood Equipment and Tool Share programs Present and facilitate sessions for the Citizen Leadership Academy Act as a liaison between the assigned department and City staff, Council, agencies, organizations, donors, volunteers, and/or the public Expand, diversify, and strengthen alliances with internal and external community partners; collaborating to develop and implement strategies to engage underrepresented communities and raise cultural competency among the broader public Assist, advise, and coach community organizations and local government regarding cross-cultural competency, while developing policies and practices using an equitable lens Provide information and education on City programs and initiatives. Attend meetings and delivers presentations to promote programs and resources available to the community Plan and execute small and large-scale events to inform the community about available programs and initiatives, and the benefits that come with engaging in program offerings Develop and/or coordinate marketing publications and presentations. Act as a public relations marketing support person on all local news stations promoting department programs, special events, and special projects Maintain and update database information, track performance measures and program statistics, analyzes data, and provide summary information and recommendations for program/process improvement. Monitor and track budget and spending to ensure department program offerings are relevant, fiscally responsible, and marketed properly Prepare and maintain reports and administers the department website

Typical Qualifications

Education and Experience:




Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Public Affairs, Public Administration, or related field, and 3 to 5 years' experience in program planning, neighborhood outreach, community relations, or a related field



OR



Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted



Licensing and Certifications:

Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire. This position involves operating a City vehicle for fieldwork and events

Work Environment and Physical Effort:



Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.



Work Environment:



Work is typically performed in an office or similar indoor environment. Employees may occasionally work in an outdoor environment or in a vehicle.



Work Exposures:



Work in this position does not require frequent environmental exposures.
