Supports the implementation of cohesive and effective communications plans that inform and educate employees and the public - including feature communications materials, patient stories, web content, announcements, memoranda, brochure and other.
Responsibilities
Acts as liaison between Dartmouth Health's Regional Communications & Marketing team and the MAHHC/VRH clinical and administrative sections and departments, to execute detailed communications plans and, within those plans.
Serves as a creator for various collateral, digital, and print content.
Conducts interviews, researches, and writes information intended for distribution in print publications, digital channels, and internal communications channels.
Copies, edits, and proofreads material, securing source and leadership approvals before they are published in print or digital version, while adhering to tight deadlines.
Participates in weekly content meetings, presenting relevant communications, content, story updates.
Serves as a resource to MAHHC/VRH stakeholders seeking advice about ways to disseminate their messages to ensure communication channels are appropriately covering the ongoing priorities of the organization.
Edits and proofreads material created by others; creates web and video content for various audiences and attends to photography needs for both campuses.
Works with other Dartmouth Health Regional Communications & Marketing staff to ensure consistency of message and brand identity.
Works with designers and/or photographers to edit written content to fit layouts, schedule photos, write photo captions, and ensure consistency of message and brand identity.
Works collaboratively with communications offices across the Dartmouth Health system.
Serves as a local on-site communications strategist to collaborate with Dartmouth Health Regional Communications & Marketing team including content, creative services, media relations, and other teams to maximize effectiveness and reach appropriate audiences.
Supports community relations and special events as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in English, Communications or related field, with 3-5 years of writing/editing experience, or the equivalent in education and experience required.
Experience in health care communications strongly preferred.
Familiarity in creating and executing detailed communications plans relating to internal and external communications required.
Demonstrated strengths in stakeholder management and teamwork; ability to work productively with constituencies including system leadership, doctors, nurses, staff, and patients and families.
Ability to show judgment and poise in working effectively and accurately under tight deadlines, to deliver materials quickly, and to help resolve potential conflicts with sometimes shifting priorities.
