Job Description


As the Communications Manager for Payments Advocacy, Chase Card Services Vice President within the Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Communications team, you will report to the Head of Communications for Card and Connected Commerce where you will provide PR leadership and communications support to the Card business, with a specific focus on card payments advocacy and promoting the value of credit card reward and benefits. You will be responsible for mining and telling stories about how consumers and small business owners benefit from credit card products.

You will also be a member of a high-performing team that communicates with honesty, authenticity and empathy. In the role you will also partner closely with the Policy Communications / Public Affairs team and other members of Chase\'s Card and Connected Commerce\'s business and communications teams on critical issues to ensure alignment of messaging and strategy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, present and execute strategic and tactical communications/public relations campaigns that build awareness and affinity for Chase credit card rewards and benefits among consumers and small business owners; Manage communications/PR agency on campaign execution and measurement
  • Mine for and share great stories that demonstrate the positive impact of credit card rewards and benefits
  • Develop and train key spokespeople to support key external communications initiatives
  • Collaborate with internal and external Chase Card Communications and Marketing teams (social, brand/advertising, video, content), business leaders, and support agencies to tell a holistic story
  • Manage inbound media inquiries regarding Chase credit card products rewards and benefits; Assist on talent and influencer management for PR purposes, as needed
  • Protect and enhance the reputation of the firm - both externally and among employees
  • Some domestic travel required
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • 7+ years of experience in a communications/PR or marketing role; experience working in a large company or a PR agency setting a plus with proven experience in proactive and reactive media relations, and proactively executing public relations campaigns that resulted in positive press coverage and support business results
  • Superior writing and editing skills; Executive presence and presentation skills; Fluency across social media and other multi-media channels
  • Excellent relationship building and collaborative decision-making skills; the ability to inspire confidence from, and to collaborate closely with teams, internal stakeholders / senior leaders and external partners; Outstanding judgment and interpersonal skills, including partnering effectively with executives, peers and other functional groups across the company
  • Subject matter expertise in financial, lifestyle press and consumer PR
  • High level of independence, energy and integrity, demonstrating respect for a diversity of opinions and styles, and taking accountability / accepting responsibility; Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and keep deliverables on track / flag potential delays
  • Must be able to demonstrate speed, flexibility and adaptability. We need a go-getter with the ability to deliver on tight deadlines - and sometimes outside traditional business hours.
