Position Summary:
We're seeking a Commissioning Technician to join our Special Projects team. In this role, you'll be hands-on in commissioning, quality assurance inspections, and repairs while representing CSS to clients and contractors. What You'll Do:
Perform in-field support of special projects jobs including commissioning, quality assurance inspections, and single scope work, as directed
Provide regular and routine updates to Senior Commissioning Technician and Project Manager
Guide EPC and other 3rd party contractors
Accomplish in-field corrective repairs or preventative maintenance work, as directed
Complete and provide Field Service Reports in a timely manner for delivery to client
Document all maintenance actions accurately in the CMMS
Provide on-the-job training to less experienced field staff
Weekend work and travel required, as work dictates
Be a leader in safe and proper work practices
Ensure a premium level of customer service
What We're Looking For:
Safety-first mindset:
Prioritizes safety daily and be able to lead site safety meetings, analyze job hazards, and provide prompt resolution
Technical expertise:
+ Working knowledge and experience operating under OSHA 1910.269, NFPA 70E, and 70B + Proficiency reading technical specification documents, site plans, & electrical schematics
+ Comfort working up to 1,500 VDC, 600Vac, and operating MV switchgear (GOAB, Transformer switching, Recloser operation)

Minimum Qualifications:
Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record in order to operate a company vehicle
1+ year field experience in utility solar PV
Commissioning or maintenance experience
Preferred Qualifications:
OEM certified training on one or more inverter systems
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds frequently
Ability to work at high heights with the use of a safety harness
Work Environment:
~90% of time spent in-field at utility scale solar facilities
Exposure to weather, extreme heat or cold
Exposure to native plants and, occasionally, animals
Exposure to electrical hazards
