Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, submittals, and job orders as needed for the project.
  • Assemble procurement orders for materials, equipment, and tools required at each project commencement.
  • Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules using knowledge of equipment capacities and assigned personnel; use hand tools and portable power tools per job specifications.
  • Conduct performance appraisals for foremen and workers to ensure the most productive job placement at the job site according to blueprint specifications.
  • Study schedules and estimate man-hour requirements for job completion.
  • Maintain time records and ensure timely procedures are adopted as appropriate.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems to bring about win/win solutions.
  • Train helpers as needed and provide instruction on proper tool handling and work product specifications.
  • When necessary, make cost estimates for contracts.
  • Interpret company policies for workers and enforce safety regulations across work areas.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of four (4) years of field experience as a plumber in a mechanical construction company.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years in trade leadership roles in commercial construction.
  • Med Gas Certification is a plus.
  • GED or high school diploma preferred.
  • Understand shop math.
  • Work skillfully with tools, metals, and machines.
  • Visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings, sketches, or blueprints.
  • Work within precise limits and standards.
  • Perform a variety of duties which may change often.
  • Rate information using measurable standards.
  • Understand English and provide/follow directives to/from assigned helpers.
  • Clean driving record, drug test, and background check are required.
  • Must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction); use hands, fingers, arms, and legs fully.
This position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to perform tasks involving physical labor, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials, tools, or equipment. Manual material handling must be performed in accordance with OSHA safety standards and company policies to minimize risk of injury.
