Job Description

The Commercial Loan Coordinator Team Lead (Team Lead) plays a crucial role in leading and mentoring our Commercial Loan Coordinators (CLC) and providing support to our Commercial Bankers and their customers. Primary responsibilities include leading and overseeing a team of CLCs who provide support to commercial bankers and their customers and ensuring the team is performing to established performance standards. This leader is expected to foster a positive and inclusive team culture through open communication and collaboration.
The CLC Team Lead will be responsible for the oversight of the entire commercial loan process, from initial application processing to closing, funding and preparing the transaction for booking as well as a strong propensity for excellent customer service. In this role you will be expected to complete extensive training and be expected to perform all duties of the supervised role.
This position will report directly to the regional Commercial Loan Support Manager and will be expected to support the manager by overseeing and implementing compliance with documentation, risk management policies, guidelines, procedures, regulatory requirements and proactively demonstrating support for department initiatives. Additionally, the Team Lead will be expected to foster strong relationships with Commercial Bankers and Banking Leaders.


Primary Duties:




Leadership



Lead and oversee a team of CLCs and ensure the team is performing to established performance standards. Monitor daily workflow and timelines and delegate tasks effectively. Leverage team member strengths to optimize productivity to most efficiently support commercial bankers and their needs. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members. Identify and develop talent within the team through mentoring and coaching. Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge. Empower team members to take ownership of their work. Facilitate productive team meetings and ensure alignment with overall department objectives. When assigned, lead, assist, or participate in various departmental and cross functional meetings. Foster strong relationship with peer cross regional CLC Team Leads and contribute to a cohesive, well-functioning leadership team.

Customer Service and Commercial Loan Process



Provide exemplary customer service while assisting CLCs, bankers and customers. Provide consistent support to CLCs and Bankers in regard to various issues such as loan documentation questions and processing, portfolio management and reporting issues, and customer inquiries Monitor the Team Lead Email Inbox and answer various CLC questions in the appropriate time frame. Serve as a loan documentation subject matter expert including, but not limited to, various types of transactions such as Commercial Real Estate, C&I, Leveraged Lending, Agriculture, Participations, Syndications, and Construction Act as a backup for other Commercial Loan Coordinator Team Leads and CLCs, as needed.

Loan Portfolio Monitoring



Ensure CLCs under supervision are conducting necessary banker meetings and promptly addressing all technical and documentation related ticklers. Ensure CLCs under supervision are appropriately monitoring banker portfolio reports and proactively addressing issues in accordance with banker direction. Perform the following processes as back up or to assist with heavy workloads: + Prepare wire transfer forms
+ Prepare cashier's checks
+ Perform BTE transfers
+ Prepare Payoff Letters
+ Ship documents via FedEx or UPS
+ Utilize Power PDF to modify documents as needed

Other Expectations




Provide responsive and outstanding customer service while assisting CLCs, customers, bankers and other internal clients throughout the loan request and closing process. Provide guidance and administrative support to CLCAs. Participate in internal and external training to maintain knowledge of Bank products, credit activities and regulations, and other appropriate training as required. Assist with updating and testing of commercial LOS system or other internal systems as directed by Manager. Assume responsibility for special projects as directed by Manager. Demonstrated acceptable personal monetary responsibility. Know by name and face as many customers and employees as possible, calling them by name as often as possible. Know and practice LOCBUTN, our Golden Rules, and Bell Bank Customer Service Standards. Know, understand, and live the company values and bottom line. Conduct activities consistent with established Bell Bank policies, procedures and systems, the Bell Bank Employee Conduct policies, the Bank Secrecy Act and all applicable State and Federal laws and regulations. All employees are responsible for information security including compliance with policies and standards which protect sensitive information. Prompt and reliable attendance. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Skills Required:




Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or similar field; or equivalent amount of experience in the finance or banking industry. Minimum of 3 years of experience mentoring other staff and leading team initiatives. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience preferred. Subject matter expert in both internally prepared and attorney prepared commercial loan documentation. Established knowledge of rules, regulations, and policies relating to commercial banking and commercial loan documentation. Excellent analytical, decision-making and effective problem resolution skills. Must be proactive and willing to take initiative to complete tasks in a timely manner and with a sense of urgency. Excellent organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work productively and efficiently without direct supervision. Ability to multi-task with multiple priorities, interruptions and possible short-term deadlines. Ability to be flexible in a dynamic and challenging environment characterized by sometimes changing priorities and react to those changes productively. Ability to work well in a collaborative, cohesive and cooperative team environment. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with third party vendors, co-workers and customers. Proficient computer skills, including Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to quickly become proficient in complex systems.
