Hourly Compensation: $27.00 - $33.00, based on experience

Position Summary:



FED is searching for a part-time Safety Director who is keen to the commercial construction industry. This role offers a flexible schedule of 20 hours per week. The Safety Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company's health and safety programs to ensure a safe work environment across all projects. This role ensures compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations, promotes a culture of safety, and supports project teams in maintaining high safety standards in commercial construction operations.

Objectives and Competencies:



An ideal candidate for our Safety Director with FED Corporation would preferably have experience in the following requirements of the position:

Maintain our company's safety policies, procedures, and training programs. Conduct regular job-site inspections, audits, and safety walks; document findings and follow up on corrective actions through Human Resources. Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans. Maintain OSHA logs and other required safety documentation. Coordinate and deliver safety orientations and ongoing training for field and office personnel. Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to promote and ensure safety compliance and culture. Stay up to date on OSHA, federal, state, and local safety regulations, and industry best practices. Participate in project planning to assess potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies. Serve as the primary contact for safety-related matters with clients, insurance providers, and regulatory agencies. Prepare and present monthly safety reports and performance metrics to President.

Education and Experience:



5+ years of safety management experience in commercial construction. Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 standards and other relevant safety regulations. OSHA 30/500 certification strongly preferred. Proven ability to conduct effective safety training and communicate across all levels of the organization. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively within a part-time schedule.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time in a computer office setting. Have the ability to travel comfortably in a vehicle and walking job sites on uneven ground for the purpose of inspection and safety training.
