Position Overview:
As a
Colt Breaker / 2-Year-Old Assistant Trainer
, you will work directly alongside Wes Galyean and his team to start and develop the next generation of champions. This is an incredible opportunity to learn from one of the industry's best while gaining hands-on experience in a positive, professional, and family-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Start and ride colts through their
2-year-old development year
under the guidance of Wes Galyean.
Handle young horses with
patience, kindness, and consistency.
Assist with daily training routines, groundwork, and care for colts in training.
Participate in
ranch work
including doctoring cattle, loading/unloading cows, brush hogging, and mowing.
Maintain a clean, organized, and respectful work environment.
Safely
haul horses, cattle, and equipment
as needed.
Represent the ranch with integrity, professionalism, and teamwork.
Qualifications:
Proven
colt starting and breaking experience
required.
Must have a
gentle, patient approach
and genuine love for horses.
Willing to work long hours when needed and be flexible with ranch responsibilities.
Clean background check required.
Valid driver's license and ability to haul a truck and trailer.
Strong moral character --
trustworthy, dependable, and faith-based values
are essential.
Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
