Job Description

SUMMARY

Incumbents are responsible for performing semi-skilled work to inspect, clean, maintain, and operate the collections system which includes pipelines, manholes, and lift stations. Incumbents keep records utilizing a computerized maintenance management system. Incumbents inspect, clean, and maintain the storm water system and components. This is the entry level of the Collections Operator series.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diplomas, or G.E.D., and one year of relevant wastewater collection system experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed in the job description. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.

REGISTRATIONS

Must have at the time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class B or higher with a tanker endorsement

Must have at the time of hire and be able to maintain an Arizona State Grade 1 Wastewater Collection System Operator Certification.

Must obtain the Pipe Assessment Certification Program (PACP), Lateral Assessment Certification Program (LACP), and Manhole Assessment Certification Program (MACP) from National Association of National Association of Sewer Service Companies (NASSCO) within 12 months of hire date.
