Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents, located in New Kent, Virginia, provides comprehensive medical, residential and psychiatric treatment for children and teens.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure accurate and complete documentation to include organizing, analyzing, indexing, and maintaining medical records within required timeframes. Reporting and tracking of deficient documentation to assist a multidisciplinary team in maintaining compliance rates and ensuring documentation contains required elements. Review provider documentation at admission for accuracy and finalization to ensure signatures are obtained and documentation is on the medical record within the required timeframe. Compile multidisciplinary reports into formal treatment teams and correspond with identified external individuals/organizations for retrieval of completed reports. Compile multidisciplinary reports into formal discharge summary and ensure signatures are obtained within the required timeframe. Data entry. Sorting, filing, indexing loose paperwork. Processing release of information requests and maintaining consent forms to ensure HIPPA compliance throughout admission. Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma required, Associates or Bachelors Degree Preferred 1-3 years of relevant experience required; 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required * Must consistently exhibit mental and emotional ability to understand and perform the essential functions of the job
