Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cable Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing cabling systems for telecommunications and data networks. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, computer networking, and low voltage installations. The Cable Technician will work in various environments, ensuring that all installations meet safety standards and client specifications.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Ethernet cabling systems for residential and commercial clients. Conduct field service visits to diagnose and resolve issues related to telephone and data services. Utilize tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to test electrical connections and ensure proper functionality of cabling systems. Collaborate with other technicians to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding installation processes and technical issues. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and inventory management. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in cabling technology to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Service Technician or similar role in the telecommunications field. Strong knowledge of computer networking principles and low voltage electrical systems. Familiarity with cabling techniques and standards for installation and maintenance. Proficiency in using testing equipment such as voltmeters and ohmmeters. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members. Valid driver's license may be required for field service responsibilities.
