Job Description


Position Description: The Coating Captain ensures the flow of customer products and support processes in the line to meet production schedules and quality requirements by a focus on production line execution, employee training, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities: 1) Execution \xe2\x80\x93 Responsible for ensuring flawless execution of our production processes are obtained every hour of every day through control of 4 components: Tooling, Equipment, Chemistry, and People to achieve a quality result that meets customer expectations 100% of the time. 2) Chemistry \xe2\x80\x93 responsible for 100% safe operation of Chemistry throughout the shift 3) Equipment - Ensures 100% safe operation of your equipment throughout the shift 4) Tooling \xe2\x80\x93 Ensures 100% safe operation of the tooling throughout the shift 5) Provides the necessary On-the-Job training to allow each member of your team to perform their activities effectively. 6) Ensures all process controls are in place to ensure a good quality product is produced, making all necessary adjustments in a timely manner. 7) Participates in daily production plan utilizing visual planning system to drive all fixtures, material and labor required to maintain product flow to Chemical Finishing Lines. 8) Works with Fixture Technicians and Material Handlers to ensure proper material and parts arrive at correct time to ensure steady flow of process. 9) Assigns and instruct clear daily tasks for team members, rotating functions as required, matching workers with tasks for growth and development where appropriate. May train new workers. 10) Ensures proper number of fixtures are in place and moved at the appropriate time to keep process flowing as designed to deliver high quality and productivity. 11) Records required production data throughout the process, maintain visual schedule/scoreboard as well as production and quality data. 12) Manages/reports on direct material consumption as required. 13) Ensure compliance and safe operation of all processes.
Qualifications: 1) 2+ years experience working in a production shop or a manufacturing process 2) Experience with electroplating, anodizing, and/or metal finishing 2) Knowledge of production processes, particularly finishing operations, and quality control.
Physical Expectations: 1) Ability to lift 30 pounds; walk or stand for long periods of time; reach including extending hands and arms; handle, seize, hold, grasp, and turn or otherwise work with your hands. 2) Ability to stand moving about in heavy production areas up to 80% of the time
