We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented CNC Programmer and Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing CNC programs to produce precision components. This role requires strong technical skills in CAD/CAM software, blueprint reading, and machining processes, with a focus on delivering high-quality parts efficiently. The CNC Programmer will collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to ensure manufacturing processes meet strict quality standards and project specifications.
Responsibilities
Develop and optimize CNC programs for various machines including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and electrical discharge machining equipment using CAM software such as Mastercam or CATIA.
Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and GD&T specifications to ensure accurate machining operations.
Set up and calibrate CNC machines, ensuring proper tooling, fixtures, and calibration tools such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines are used effectively.
Troubleshoot machining issues by analyzing tool paths, geometry, and machine parameters to improve efficiency and precision.
Collaborate with mechanical engineers to review designs created in SolidWorks or AutoCAD for manufacturability.
Implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve workflow efficiency.
Maintain documentation of programs, setups, tooling configurations, and process improvements for future reference.
Ensure all machining operations comply with safety standards and quality control procedures.
Requirements
Proven experience in CNC programming with proficiency in Fanuc controls is essential.
Strong knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Schematics for designing or reviewing parts.
Hands-on experience with CAM programming tools like Mastercam or CATIA for generating tool paths.
Familiarity with GD&T principles, blueprint reading, and geometric tolerances to ensure precision manufacturing.
Knowledge of machining processes including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and tooling setups.
Mechanical knowledge of tooling selection, geometry calculations, and the use of precision measuring instruments like bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts to optimize production workflows.
Ability to read electrical schematics and schematics related to manufacturing equipment is a plus.
